Hi! I am new to this site and very excited. I have been researching my family from the Veneto and have been finding images of vital records, but because of my difficulty with the handwriting and the lack of Italian I have had a hard time getting the information from them. I appreciate your help in finally being able to start piecing the puzzle together. Thank you in advance. I will try not to take advantage and only post one at a time.

Father: Luigi Poletto 47yo, mechanician
Mother:Teresa Basso, housewife

a side note states she died in Venezia on Feb 18 1951

What a wonderful name Innocente is! If you don't mind another, this is one for Romeo Poletto. I really appreciate this as I am trying to get as much information as I can before my mother becomes very ill from her cancer....she has taken a sudden interest in my research. All the birth I have translated so far are related to Poletto's not belonging to the same family. Which are the criteria you have to determine if a person belongs to your tree?

Honestly, we don't know anything beyond the names of my great grandparents on the Poletto side. So as I have been scanning through the records on familysearch.org I have been keeping tracking of the 3 main names I have been looking for. I am curious to see what other Polettos I can connect such as siblings. Also, my cousin's father is a Poletto and we are trying to figure out how he is connected to my grandmother. Big puzzle I am trying to find the pieces for. I am recording the translated information in a spreadsheet to refer to. If I am asking for too much, please let me know. I don't want to take advantage.

You are not asking too much but I suggest that you try to understand the structure of the record to be able to find the names of the parents and the birth date on your own. This will expedite your search and you will enjoy it much more. If you want to try you can always post here your interpretation and I, or other will correct it as needed.

What are exactly the info you have about the Poletto's or their children?

I have tried several times with the records, even going so far as to type into google translate what I see....with disastrous results. The handwriting is very difficult for me to read unfortunately. I think if I knew the language it would be easier to decipher, but I can try again with some guidance. My grandmother was Livia Poletto, daughter of Romano and Alice Recher. Romano was the son of Felice and Maria Fuga (these names only very very recently discovered on a document I just discovered my mother had). We know nothing about siblings for Romano or Felice.

Here is one for Yolanda Maria Poletto born January 25 1905. Father is Vittorio 39 years residing in Padova. Can't decipher the mother's name.

When was Livia Poletto Born? have you got her birth record?

My grandmother was born in 1931 and she was actually born in Argentina. I do have her birth record which is the document we recently came across. Her parents and grandparents were from Venice.

This one I have a very hard time with because it is all handwritten for Amalia Poletto. If I am right the date is November 14 1877...

The year is 1873 and the name is Voletto, not Poletto. Amalia was born to a woman who did not want to be named. Both name and surname were assigned by the Official.

Boy, I was way off on that one. Sounds like a very interesting situation though. Curious, does it say what happened to the baby?
