Sent an email and just received a message back that they are closed from April 1 to Autumn 2015... I guess I will wait and move on to other information.

Finally found another record. I am having a little harder time with this one. The handwriting and the format look different than the ones I have gotten used to.

Father Canziani Marco age 27, residing in Venezia, profession turner (tornitore)
Mother Bastasi Elisabetta, housewife residing with her husband.

Giovanni married Trinca Sofia on January 25 1920 in Venezia and died on August 14 1976 in Mestre (Venezia).

Declaration was made by Trippa Amalia who attended childbirth because Giovanni's father was busy at his job.

She is the sister of my great-grandfather so I am very excited to find this record.

Exactly,
they were born on the 14th of July 1902 in the house in Dorsoduro n. 1710,
the father couldn't be there (they don't say why) so the midwife reported their births.

So finally, another family member found!

Giovanni Poletto born May 5, 1902 to Felice Poletto and Maria Fuga.

I do see that there is a mention of an Amalia Fuga, does it say what the relationship is?

Giovanni Poletto was born on May 3rd 1902 (the 5th is when he was registered) in Cannareggio 1839.

Amalia, 42, matchgirl, was the one reporting the birth, she assisted Maria, the midwife was busy (for another birth) and the father was busy as well (possibly out for work). It does not state the relationship, but it's likely that she's a family member.

The baby wasn't born alive and his father resing in Mira and was busy with his jos...he was a railway shunter.
