Hi,

I am trying to search for the births, deaths and marriages in the town of Vallico Sotto in Lucca, which I believe changed to Fabbriche Vallico.

Antenati only have the records from 1807-1812.

Familysearch only have the records from 1911-1929.

Where do I look between 1840's and 1900?

Are they under a bigger towns records?

I've looked under Pescaglia and Stazzema but I can't see them there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks,

Darin (Newcastle upon Tyne, England).

Hi Darin,
at one time Vallico Sotto was an hamlet of the commune of Trassilico.
On 19 June 1947 the commune of Trassilico ceased to exist and some of its hamlets (Gragliana, Vallico Sopra, Vallico Sotto, and Fabbriche di Vallico) formed the new commune of Fabbriche di Vallico, while the other hamlets (Trassilico and Verni) passed to the commune of Gallicano.

In 2014 the commune of Fabbriche di Vallico joined to that of Vergemoli and became Fabbriche di Vergemoli.

So you can find some records of Trassilico here on FamilySearch site (but images viewable only to signed-in members of supporting organizations of LDS Church or when using the site at a Family history center):

https://familysearch.org/search/catalog ... %20Library

Otherwise you should find baptisms, marriages and deaths in Lucca Diocesan Archive or directly in S. Giacomo Apostolo church in Vallico Sotto:

From 1852 up to 1865 you can find also civil records in Massa State Archive and maybe you can find the most recent civil records in the ex Municipal Historical Archives of Fabbriche di Vallico, as written here:

http://san.beniculturali.it/web/san/det ... 0&id=17660

for that, you should contact the head of Demographic Services, see here under "Area di attività Amministrativa e Demografica":

Erica
