yeah I second Ziadani, I'm having troubles reading with all the lines coming from the pc screen, especially the smaller handwritten parts on the sides, if you can give us the links to the original familysearch images I'm sure we can help.

Here is the link to the record. I was unable to access the link from home. I had to go to a Family History Center to view the original record. We were unable to print the image at the Family History Center, so that is why we took a photo of the image. I appreciate any part of the translation of the birth record that you can give me. Thank you!! :)

In the year 1896, 11 of february,
Carmen Pozzo, 28, midwife, living in Genova, declared that at 12 of the 10th (of february) in [?] street at n. [?], from a woman that does not want to be named, was born a female baby, she is named Maria and Faldelli for the surname.
Then there are names of 2 more witnesses, I am struggling to read more than this.
In the left side there is a notice. What I understand is that in (possibly 1916) she was recognized as natural daughter of Paolo Porcile son of the deceased Bartolomeo. (can't read more)
There's another note from 1929? where she's recognized as natural daughter by a woman named Pedemonte Cecilia daughter of the deceased Lorenzo. (I can't make out the rest)
The last note is for her death, in Genova, 21 May 1974.

Did you know Maria's parents names already?
I have found many Porcile in Genova, there's another Maria born in january 1896.

Luorui,

Thank you so much for translating. My grandmother had the same parents. You will see in the attached link from familysearch.org.
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QVR6-Q6HM
We knew my grandmother Angelina Porcile (name on birth record - Angela Mallioni) was born by a woman that did not want to be named. And we now know that her sister Maria Porcile (name on birth record - Maria Faldelli) was also born by a woman that did not want to be named. Are the dates in the margin of the record the same or different for Angela and Maria, for when Paoli Porcile and Cecelia (Emilia?) Pedemonte both recognized them to be their natural daughters? Thank you so much also for providing me with Maria's date of death. We know her married name was Maria Fighetti. Do you know where I may find her death record?

Well I can't access the image for Angela's record so I don't know, but you could try writing Genova's stato civile, for both their birth records and the death record. Provide a copy of your id and say Angela was your grandmother. I don't think they will give you Maria's death record as it's a too recent (70 years should pass before anyone can ask for it). I've not dealt with the comune of Genova so I'm not sure if they're good about replying or not...
Try writing to this address statocivile@comune.genova.it
(always ask for Copia Integrale atto di nascita/matrimonio/morte, not the extract, basically it's an exact copy) and see if they can do that for you and if they can send it via email.

Cecilia or Emilia, i'm staring at it, I'm not sure which one, if you can get a better copy from the comune it would be better.

Luorui,

I do not know Italian, but should I try writing to them in Italian, or is English okay? Is there a fee to request both Angela's and Maria's birth records? Thank you!

There shouldn't be a fee, but it always depend on the comune, I think italian is your best option.
If you google something like "how to request birth certificate in italian" you can find templates and websites explaining the process.

Hi,
about the notes I read that on September 3 1916 she was recognized as natural daughter of Paolo Porcile son of the deceased Bartolomeo, butcher, born and resident here (Genoa).
On Febraury 9 1929 she was recognized as natural daughter by a woman named Pedemonte Emilia daughter of the deceased Lorenzo, widow of Mosca Enrico Pietro, born in Pedemonte, resident in Genoa.

Thank you Erica!!

Do you think that Piazza dell'Ospedale at n 13 is the same address that is on Maria Faldelli's birth record?
