Hello everyone! first of all its a pleasure to be here and I really appreciate the help you guys can give me.
Im going to write in english because I've just started to learn Italian.
I'm an ancestor of De Cio family, Napoli. My great grandfather was named Raphael Decio and was born in Italy, napoli, campania, Italy in 1794 and he moved to spain and then to Iporanga, São paulo, Brazil which is where I currently live. He died here in 10 of february of 1865, however i couldnt find his death certificate because the church somehow lost it.
in familysearch there are all the information about my ancestors and I know a lot about it, but I would like to know if someone knows if Napoli still would have the birth certificates prior 1800 or if you guys think I'll just spend money looking for that, also does anyone have any information about him? I know Raphael Decio was son of Saverio De cio, born in 1765 and Rachele Polichetti born 1765 too, I'm tryng to get this document of further information about it. thanks in advance!

First of all: is it Decio (as you wrote here) or Desio (as in your family tree) ?

Vedo che hai le date esatte di due matrimoni avvenuti nella seconda metà del 1700.
Dove le hai trovate?
La famiglia era prima residente a Cava de’ Tirreni e poi sono andati a Napoli dove nasce Raffaele nel 1794?
Presumo che il matrimonio con Mariana Soler sia stato celebrato in Catalogna durante la sua permanenza in Spagna.
Dopo, tra il 1847 ed il 1848, sono tutti emigrati in Brasile.
Raffaele, Mariana con i 3 figli ed anche i nipoti?
Hai provato a cercare in Spagna l’atto di matrimonio e la nascita dei discendenti?

Purtroppo per quanto riguarda la nascita di Raffaele puoi solo cercare nelle parrocchie per i registri ecclesiastici. Se é nato a Napoli non sarà facile visto che le chiese sono tante.

Most of the information that I have about him was passed to us throughout generations, so it might be incorrect but as far as I know, he came to brazil before turn 30 years old and became a rich landlord here, Dom Raphael Decio, the original name De Sio. I know he was married in Spain but idk if the dates given on familysearch are accurate, I think there might be mistakes...he died in iguape, sao paulo, Brazil in 1865 his sepulture is yet in the local cemetery.
I'd like to find his birth certificate and since I'm in brazil, hire this support there is very expansive which I dont think its a problem if we can find that, I'm just concerned if these documents do exist or not...about the churches, you meant that these documents are not available online yet? I really would have to go looking around the churches in Napoli for such document? Thank you very much! I want to know more about my italian ancestors and appreciate it so much! Kind Regards

Tu, in pratica, stai cercando Raffaele De Sio nato a Napoli nel 1794.
I genitori erano di Cava de’ Tirreni, Salerno. Come fai ad essere sicuro che sia nato a Napoli?
Con queste poche informazioni sarà ben difficile trovarlo.
Prima del 1809 tutti gli atti sono solo reperibili nelle parrocchie. Qualcuna potrebbe anche essere online ma bisogna sapere quale.

You’ve said that you know a lot about your ancestors but at the same time you fear that the dates maybe incorrect. So how can we be of assistance to you if you don’t give us some certainty?

Questo tipo di ricerche, quando sia il cognome (Decio, Descio o De Sio) sia i dati in possesso non sono molto chiari, sono molto complicate. Se Raffaele nacque in Napoli occorrerebbe avere dei dati più precisi. Non ci sono Parrocchie non line, ma solo alcune hanno i registri depositati presso l'Archivio Diocesano di Napoli. Senza altri dati a disposizione credo sia impossibile procedere. Spesso nei documenti si affermava di un soggetto che fosse napoletano, ma non è certo che ci si riferisse alla città di Napoli...
